Once we decided to have an informal dinner, we settled on the first floor to try a variety of dishes suggested by the chef. We resolved to share some of the options in the menu and were brought some olives accompanied by prosciutto, goat cheese and garlic mayonnaise, breaded seafood, large oyster, octopus and squids, mushrooms sauté with white wine and deep-fried squid rings served with tartar sauce. Our drinks choice was draft craft beer and glasses of exquisite Chilean wine.
Arm in Arm along the Coast
After dinner, we strolled along the Pérez Rosales waterfront to breathe some lake breeze and stare at the color lights of the lampposts and the waterfront buildings reflected on the water. This waterfront stretches from Mount Phillipi up to Puerto Chico and it reaches San Carlos de Bariloche as International Route 225 after going past Ensenada, the Petrohué River and the Lake Todos los Santos. Luxury hotels are situated on the coast mainly the elegant restaurant known as Club de Yates.
Charmed by Dreams Casino
Even though we are not gambling enthusiasts, we visited the stunning waterfront casino to try our luck. We saw impressive roulette tables, slot machines, Baccarat, Black Jack and bingo rooms. Although the rooms were full of gamblers, others chose a quiet dinner inside its amazing restaurant. We decided to have a drink and enjoy a musical show before going back to our cabin.
A state-of-the-art building houses the Dreams Casino, unique in the X Region in Chile. Besides the live shows, these rooms also serve as a venue for permanent art exhibitions.
When the stars watch the night in Puerto Varas, activities do not stop and the night offers more and more incredible tailor-made activities to everyone. That was exactly what we felt once we left behind this lake city.
